I started my day with very little to eat, and just one cup of Kona coffee I used to wash down my chill pill. I decide to skip my delicious macadamia shortbread cookie because my stomach felt a little nervous. Why you wonder?
Because it was my husband’s birthday.
His wish was for me was to experience one of his favorite things….being up in a helicopter 2500 feet off the ground and over the ocean. (It was either that or scuba diving, so I happily decided to be a bird instead of a fish!)
I said a prayer as we sat in waiting for a our 9 am flight. I was thankful my chill pill had kicked, especially when I was forced to watch a mandatory emergency video and then strap on my personal emergency life vest…just in case!
As we flew for 45 minutes in our cramped, loud helicopter wearing headsets that gave me a slight headache we did see some amazing sights; however to pay $200 dollars to hover over waterfalls, 3000 foot cliffs and grazing cattle, when you can watch this for free on the adventure channel from the comfort of your sofa is something I don’t get!
I have to admit it wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be, but I was very happy to be back on the ground.
thank God for chill pills!
